The Layout
The main layout facilities provided by HTML are:
- Paragraphs
- Six levels of heading
- Horizontal rules to divide up the page
- Numbered and bulleted lists
- Bold, italic, and other character formatting features
- Font size changes
- Left, right and centre justification
- Tables
- A number of text and image alignment options.
Further control of presentation can be achieved by the use of style sheets.
Note that some features found in word-processed documents are not available
in HTML - tabs, columns, footnotes, and page breaks, for example - though
you may be able to simulate their appearance.
